Many of the Triton FFA members took advantage of summer opportunities provided for them.  In early summer the chapter toured two different businesses in southeast Minnesota: Schech's Mill in Caledonia and Fastenal in Winona.  At the mill the members saw a water turbine powered mill grind corn and wheat with milling stones that were installed in the late 1800's.  Over the years the mill has ground flour for people and feed for animals and is currently grinding flour for beer production and for bread.  At Fastenal the members learned about machining careers and got to see the fabrication shop.

Several members exhibited at the Dodge County Fair FFA Livestock show.  All species had at least one exhibitor showcasing their knowledge of  selecting and raising the animal.  They are all looking forward to showing at the state fair.

At the end of July the Triton FFA officer team had a three day camping planning retreat at Harvestfarm Campground in Cresco, Iowa.  Officers did some team building activities and planned events for the school year.  They are looking forward to a productive school year!
