Merwin Lindahl, 84, of Dodge Center, MN passed away on April 6, 2024 at the Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, MN.

Merwin was born in Dodge Center, MN on August 1, 1939 to Marvin and Charlotte (Langworthy) Lindahl. He grew up in Dodge Center. When he was old enough he worked with his Dad in S & L Motor and Implement repairing cars and farm machinery.

He graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1957. On September 18, 1959 he married Arlys Madery.

In 1961 he was hired as a bookkeeper for Underground Construction which later became Donaldson Construction. He worked there until 1988. He then worked for Energy Economics until retiring in 2001.

Merwin was a volunteer fireman for the Dodge Center Fire Department for 30 years. He was a founding board member of the Dodge Center Sportsmen’s Club in 1965. He was the treasurer until 2019. His favorite activity was trap shooting.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Arlys and two sons; Larry (Lynn) of Roland, Arkansas and Dan (Jane) of Rochester, MN. Six grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Gartner, Andrew Buechler, David (Maylene) Lindahl, Marie (Caleb) Stark, Danny (Katie) Lindahl and Naomi Lindahl. Two great-grandchildren Clayton and Quinn Gartner; sister Irene Conrad of Santa Barbara, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law Robert & Lois Lindahl and brother-in-law Devon Conrad.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday April 20, 2024, at Praise Fellowship Church, 602 Central Avenue South, Dodge Center, MN with Pastor Roger Langworthy officiating. Visitation will be held one-hour before the service.

Memorials may be given to Praise Fellowship Church, Dodge Center Fire Department, Dodge Center Sportsmen’s Club or charity of your choice.
