Dustin and Drew Cook of West Concord are preparing to enter the 26th annual Dick Hiley St. Jude Classic held at Wabasha on the weekend of May 3rd – 5th. The two brothers took second place in the fund raiser/bass tournament last year. As a way to generate more funds for the benefit they organized a raffle this spring. 750 tickets were sold and raised a total of $15,000. $6,000 was given out in cash to winners and $1,000 was donated to the WCHS for administering the raffle. The net amount of the check for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital was $7,116. Tickets were sold at the Concord Locker, Wescon Lanes, West Concord Municipal Liquor Store, HJB Tax Service and by WCHS members. The drawing was held on March 7th at Wescon Lanes. They would like to thank the community for their support in this cause.
The $1,000 winner was Steve Ray. There were six $500 winners; Kelsy Schumacher, Cory Volk, Gail Freerksen, Nicole Guerton, Jesse Phelps and Steve Lurken. There were six $250 winners; Deb Steenhard, Bruce Williams, Shirley Stumo, Richard Dessner, Judy Miller and Zach Starkson. There were five $100 winners; Brett Dutton, Deb Paquin, Jake Bratten, Jenn So and Perry Wingen.
