Virginia “Ginny” M. Sendle ,80, of West Concord, died Wednesday, January 30, 2024 at Mayo St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
She was born in Minneapolis, MN on July 15, 1943, to Gladys (nee Stevenson) and Vernon Herreid. After her parents divorced, her mother was remarried to Raymond Tuttle. Raymond adopted her two children and they had one together. Ginny graduated from Bloomington High School and attended Mankato State College in Minnesota. She married Bobby Dale Sendle, August 5, 1963, in Honolulu, Hawaii. They lived in San Diego, California while he was in the Marines. They moved next to Bloomington, Minnesota and then lived in Colorado until 1974. She worked for Safeway Foods in Hawaii; at J.C. Penney’s in California; and at K-Mart in Colorado. They had two children, Linda and Daniel. The Sendles’ came to West Concord, in 1974. She worked various jobs as a grocery cashier; bookkeeper; mailcarrier; secretary at West Concord High School; was co-owner of Ginny’s Drive-In for 23 years; editor/publisher of the West Concord Enterprise and the Claremont News for 18 years; and at Target in Rochester, MN. She retired in 2010 and spent 10 winters in Arizona with her husband. Ginny is a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of West Concord, West Concord Study Club, and former secretary for the West Concord and Claremont Commercial Clubs. She enjoyed reading, going to watch plays and movies, and being with grandchildren, family and friends.
Survivors are her daughter, Linda Sendle of West Concord, MN; son, Daniel Sendle (and Brook Gregor) of Fairfax, MN; one (l) grandson, Logan Sendle, three (3) granddaughters, Kailee Sendle, Julia Kiefer, and Shannon Kiefer; brother Donald Tuttle of Webster City, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobby Sendle, sister Cheryl Tuttle, sister-in-law Dee Tuttle
A Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel on Wednesday February 7 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held February 8 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Chad Christensen officiating. Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Concord Township.
