United Way of Southeast Minnesota and Dodge County Salvation Army Invite Community to Day of Caring

Dodge County, MN — United Way of Southeast Minnesota and Dodge County Salvation Army are inviting local businesses and community members to participate in a Day of Caring on Friday, October 2. This volunteer event is focused on helping neighbors and enhancing shared community spaces throughout Dodge County.

Day of Caring is open to any Dodge County community member but is focused on engaging local businesses. The event offers a meaningful opportunity for businesses to engage employees in hands-on service while strengthening connections within the community.

Volunteers will assist with projects that support local families and community spaces, including yard work for residents in need, community garden maintenance, and beautification efforts in public areas. Participants will work alongside fellow community members and local organizations to complete projects that directly benefit Dodge County residents.

"Day of Caring is a great way for businesses and employees to come together outside the workplace and make a tangible difference in the community," said Lauren Neufeld, Outreach and Engagement Coordinator at United Way of Southeast Minnesota. "It's also an opportunity for organizations to experience the impact of community engagement and see how
volunteerism strengthens our region."

Participants will begin at St. John's Lutheran Church, where they will receive project assignments and instructions before traveling to volunteer sites throughout the area. Those interested in participating must RSVP by September 25.

Businesses are encouraged to register teams of employees, whether they are current United Way Workplace Campaign partners or organizations exploring new ways to engage with the community. Individual volunteers are also welcome.
