When we lose our best friend

Posted

Romans 8:18

"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."

My best friend passed away Saturday, 7-16-26, at 5 a.m. The emptiness I felt immediately was heartbreaking. I started thinking that the last 65 years we shared as friends are priceless. Boy, what fun we had together. Then I started to think, how am I going to get through this?

Well, here is how we do this. We pray to God and ask for his help. Then we start thinking we better be grateful for those wonderful memories. God will give us strength to go on living.

We go through such different times during our days on God's Glorious earth, just like the seasons of Minnesota. We have many wonderful times in our lives, but we also have many trying times in our lives. The way we make it through those trying times is faith in Jesus Christ; Our eternal life should be based on gratitude for dear loved ones, family, and friends, and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Psalm 34:18

"God is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed."

God is here, has always been here. God will listen to you whenever you call upon him sincerely. God is all around us, and he is within us. We need never be afraid because he knows our hearts, our story more than our own selves. God is the one who sends others to help when we pray. We must not forget to give thanks and praise to him. God gave his only Son to save us; we must remember we are worth having a wonderful life full of living, for those who believe in Jesus Christ our Savior.

Remember to love and hug those close to you and tell your children you love them.
