Larry Raymond Burtis, 82, of Dodge Center, MN passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, MN.

Larry was born on March 27, 1941, in Fort Dodge, IA to Cecil and Mary Jane (Rohn) Burtis. He attended school in Algona, IA. He married Carole Smith on November 24, 1961, at the Methodist Church in West Bend, IA. After working in lumber yards and a dairy processing plant, the couple moved to Mountain Lake, MN where they resided from 1966-1969. They eventually settled in Dodge Center, MN in September 1969. He worked for Niemann Farm Systems for 30 years, retiring in 1999. After retiring he worked several years at Cybex in Owatonna until fully retiring in 2011.

Larry found peace and tranquility in the great outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting and his true passion of fishing. He was a member of Zumbro Valley Bass Masters Club for 20 years. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his wife, Carole Burtis of Dodge Center, MN; children, Raymond Burtis of Kasson, MN, Rhonda (Mark) Mittelstaedt of Kernersville, NC, Ralph B. (Michelle) Burtis of Kasson, MN, and Robin (Gary) Stolin of West Concord, MN; grandchildren, Tim (Danya) Burtis, Carley (Janson) Baldus, April Mittelstaedt, Danny Mittelstaedt, and Mikaela (Tyler) Smith; great-grandchild, Dylan Korth; brothers, Sam (Marjorie) Burtis, Ivan Burtis, Tom (Carol) Burtis, Ralph E. Burtis, and Jeff (Carolyn) Burtis; sister-in-law, Mary Kay Burtis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mary Jane; brothers, John Burtis and Bob Burtis; and sister-in-law, Marie Burtis.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE in Kasson, MN, with Pastor Chad Christensen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow his service. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
