Getting the new season underway, the Triton/Kenyon-Wanamingo/Hayfield girls soccer team took on a formidable Caledonia bunch on Thursday, August 22. It was an all-Warriors day, as they bested the Cobras, 7-0. T/K-W/H goalkeeper Alyssa Knudson had 20 saves. Junior McKenzy Purinton and 7th grader Rebekah Henslin made their first career starts for the Cobras.
It was a busy week for T/K-W/H. On Tuesday, August 27, they battled Cannon Falls at home. Thursday, August 29, found the Cobras clashing with Pine Island/Zumbrota-Mazeppa, again at Triton High School. Capping the hectic week, the girls hit the road and met-up with Tri-City United on their pitch. Cobra Coach Jeremy Himli says, “It is nice to stay busy, as it is a great way to stay sharp.”
