As we head into winter in Minnesota, and travelling to see friends and family becomes less frequent, KMTelecom has made connecting easier with their new fiber network in Dodge Center.
In 2021, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) announced recipients for Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). The City of Dodge Center, in partnership with KMTelecom, was one such recipient and was awarded $3,142,747 to bring high-speed fiber broadband services to residents within city limits. KMTelecom also invested an additional $1,000,000 to help bring these services to unserved businesses as well. The intent was to make sure that everyone who wanted or needed a better internet experience could have one. During the pandemic, so many folks were working from home and going to school online that more bandwidth was needed to keep up with the demand to stay connected.
The project is now wrapping up, and all residents and businesses within Dodge Center city limits will have the option to convert to a fiber connection. The benefits of which are increased internet speeds up to 1 Gig, the highest quality and most reliable connection, increased home values, and increased productivity of your family. The ultra-fast speeds, no buffering streams of movies and shows, free modem use, unlimited data and synchronous download/upload speeds make this a great opportunity for everyone.
If you missed the information on how to apply for this upgrade, you may call (507)634-2511 Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm to speak with one of the KMTelecom customer service representatives who will answer any questions you may have. Thank you again to KMTelecom, the City of Dodge Center, and the State of Minnesota for bringing affordable high-speed broadband to our community!
