Dave Wahlstrom honored at the Dodge Center Lions Meeting

District Governor Terry Zabel presented the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award to Dodge Center Lion Dave Wahlstrom on Monday September 25th . The Melvin Jones Program was established in 1973 in honor of Melvin Jones, the founder of Lions Clubs International. Lion Dave received a pin, a commemorative plaque and a letter from the Lions Club International Foundation Chairperson. It was a special night for a very deserving Dodge Center Lion.

Dave has lived in Dodge Center since 1976, the year he purchased the hardware store. He has been a member of the Lion’s Club for 47 years. Dave worked at the grocery store after selling the hardware store in 1983 and following his employment there worked for McNeilus Steel for twenty years.

As a Lion’s Club member Dave has been active in the pancake breakfast, flag project and citizen of the year. He is currently the new member chairman. There are 31 members in the Dodge Center Lion’s Club at this time.
