The end of the school year is always a time of reflection for me. I reflect on the past school year and think about things that went well, and also think about areas that we need to improve. The past few years of school really feel like that have gone together due to the COVID pandemic and it feels like we are finally moving forward. Much of the data related to COVID last summer led me to believe that we were going to be able to enjoy a relatively normal school year. That all changed as we saw a spike in cases right before school started. It reminded us that the pandemic was not gone. I feel that our decision making team made good decisions and we kept our students safe. We continued to evaluate the cases throughout much of the year and really only had to miss one day of school due to the spike we saw in cases. I am thankful for all of the great work our staff has done to continue to find the best way to serve our students during the pandemic. The pandemic has provided a great deal of learning opportunites and experience I never expected to have and our staff really shined during this difficult time.

Our staff is led by an amazing administrative team of Luke Lutterman, Shane Van Beek and Kevin Krenz. These three individuals have done an amazing job for our district this past school year. Trying to make up for the lost learning time, as well as creating memorable experiences for our students. I am very happy with the leadership they have provided as well as their commitment to improving. They have taken on a number of issues, and found positive resolutions. Whether it was the task of improving the elementary after school pick-up or a post about something related to school on social media, they worked diligently to find a resolution to the issue at hand. They have also worked hard to find new staff to replace those that have left the profession or moved on. I feel fortunate to welcome a great new group of teaching staff at Triton and I am proud of the familial culture that we have developed at Triton Public Schools. I am looking forward to working to the school year ahead.

The graduating seniors provided such an amazing display of their talents during the senior boards this year. It is exciting to see so many successful and passionate individuals that are preparing to move on from high school to their  next adventures. Overall, I am very happy with the positive things that are taking place at Triton. I realize that we will always have room for improvement, but I feel that we have done a great job of weathering the storm these past few years and still managing to create a great learning environment for our students.

Please reach out to me with any questions that you may have regarding our school district.
